Drifted from the city to escape the din
Drifted to the harbor where the eddies spin
Could no longer reach the water, now the shore’s hemmed in
Coming back to bloom just to wilt within
Coming back to bloom just to wilt again
Placing twenty dollars on an old coat pin
Wasting twenty dollars on a new Moleskine
Lord, I have the will but not the discipline
Coming back to bloom just to wilt within
Coming back to bloom just to wilt again
Ooh, lamp-lit roads won’t lead you home
Ooh, with no comb, the bees must roam
Coming back to blooms just to wilt again
Entered in the field to be a Jacobin’
Ended up another faded mandarin
Never be the hero or the heroin
Coming back to bloom just to wilt within
Coming back to bloom just to wilt again
Dreamed another crucifixion mannequin
Nailed me to the wall, a soldier slipped it in
Fear to feel at all, like it’s a mortal sin
Coming back to bloom just to wilt within
Coming back to bloom just to wilt again
Ooh, lamp-lit roads won’t lead you home
Ooh, with no comb, the bees must roam
Coming back to blooms just to wilt again
Coming back to bloom just to wilt within
Coming back to bloom just to wilt again

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
